Back to the mainland

Estimated Reading Time: < 1 minute

We were up and out of our accommodation by 10 am. Guess where we had breakfast? You’ve got it, Jackman & McRoss. I had a wonderful baked polenta which had sweetcorn in it, topped with roasted pumpkin, mushroom, artichoke, pepper, goat cheese and brie – Wow!  I had to finish on something sweet so I had an apple and cinnamon swirl too. Diet starts next week!

It was a quick and easy drive to Hobart airport for a 1:20 pm flight to Melbourne and then a couple of hours driving down to the Mornington Peninsula.

We got settled in our AirBnB which although set back inland had a great deck with distant views of the coast.   It’s a shame it was a bit too chilly to sit out into the evening although the house had huge floor to ceiling concertina doors so even though we sat inside we could still enjoy the feeling of space.  We BBQ’d lamb and had an amazing burnt fig, honeycomb & caramel ice cream for desert.
